LEADER Christine Knudson DESCRIPTION

April is sexual assault awareness month. The "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event is a unique and impactful initiative created by First Step. This event is aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault and promoting discussion around the issues faced by women. The event is FREE, however donations are greatly appreciated. While partnering with First Step to help organize their donations, we were informed they lost a $150K grant they count on annually to maintain operations. Participants are invited to Sikes Lake and are encouraged to wear women's shoes while walking this mile! City Hope Church, let's come together & help create a safer, more supportive community for all! To continue supporting this life-changing organization, we would like to have about 10 volunteers and whole lot of participants! Let’s rally at church at 8:30, wearing your red serve shirts, and paint the 1-mile walk/event RED! Register Now or At Event for FREE (donations needed & appreciated) and show your support for survivors! www.firststep.org/events Can't attend but want to help? Donate today! www.paypal.com/donate First Step, Inc is a nonprofit agency providing family violence and sexual assault services.
